I have used several models from this manufacturer and this one was definitely disappointing. The first setting and changing modes are whimsical in my opinion. Having to hold down the program button to set button modes is ridiculous. Having to press two buttons to activate Boost mode is too cumbersome. I was surprised that no button could set the Boost mode. That too is ridiculous. Instant mode was not activated on the collar I received. I followed the manual to the letter. I know this mode from my PE 900 model. So there is no error on my part. The mod just didn't work. I have a PE-900 and I find this model much better than this higher priced model. I cannot recommend this model. I was looking for a cheaper alternative to PE-900, so I gave it a try. The thumb button to adjust the stimulation level is a very nice feature and one of the main reasons I chose this style of collar. The manufacturer should go back to the drawing board of this model to make it more similar to the PE-900. While these collars are superficially similar, they are otherwise dissimilar. The interface of this model, in my opinion, is too cumbersome and pretentious. I have returned this item. I cannot recommend this model as hoped. Go for the PE-900, even if it costs a little more.
