My original review was wrong; That's a good car seat! The upper part was simply clamped under the chair. Received a replacement today and was upset because I thought I had received another defective chair, but the packaging was a little misleading. I had to read the instruction manual to discover that I had to turn the chair over to get the rest of the parts out. It probably would have been nice to know this when I called Kids II to complain but the rep on the phone just told me I would have to destroy the chair for a refund or exchange the chair for another through Revain. She said it was a popular item and they didn't have any spare backs in their inventory. After finding the top of the seat I was able to assemble it and put my child in it. I was concerned about the desk mount because it got stuck the first time I put it on without my young child, so I didn't want to risk anything happening when I unplugged it again. Overall this is a good seat. I like that the backrest doesn't go all the way up as my child is learning to use the neck muscles to support his head on his own. The backrest and backrest foam were nowhere to be found, which was particularly annoying as I have a baby who can't even sit up with his arms. I need a back brace like this and according to the instructions I can't use the bracket on the table without a back! It sucks so much. I will call the manufacturer as soon as they open tomorrow but this is not the first time I have received faulty products from this company. actually the second time. However, I've only ordered their products twice and the first order came through ToysRUs.com, so they're 0 out of 2 for getting it right the first time. If I have to call Kids II after every purchase, I might as well pay an extra $15 for the same product from their competitor, which doesn't make me beg for functionality or leftover parts that I've already paid for. And here I thought I got a good deal. Let's hope the missing pieces get here before the end of the week. If not I will return this chair and buy the Bumbo version. I bought this from Revain Prime not to wait more than two days.
