I have one of these lights. I like that it runs on batteries and the run time is very long on a single set of batteries. There are also options for mounting on the seat post and with a clip on the saddlebag (or bag on the trunk). It was a great light by the standards of 5 years ago (yes, this light has been around for a long time!). However, by today's standards, its brightness is mediocre at best - just 7 lumens! A lot of taillights you get today range from 50 to 200. Just today we got in my son's saddlebag and went for a ride. It also has a tiny, quirky, rechargeable rear light (one of the latest Smart BT, ANT+ models with a remote). Viewed from a distance in daylight, Planet Bike's flashes are significantly dimmer compared to brighter flashes of light. They're still somewhat visible and add to the overall security, but actually it's not that much. If it was the only light alone, it would be a really bad choice for daylight visibility! I thought it was a great light 5 years ago (I still had one before the batteries died and it went bad), at the time it was one of the best, now it's government owned. It doesn't need to be super bright for those who drive in the evening or at night, so I think it's still a good choice.
