Have been using it for years, great purchase!

This wasn't the first Planet Bike Superflash I've bought. I always drive in pairs. Why you may ask, because batteries can die. I find cycling safer at night and with the front and rear lights clearly visible they can see you and when the cars aren't running without lights I can see them. Before retiring I rode a bike and still ride at night to escape the summer heat. I've been asked why I prefer night driving; Someone says that there are more drunks out at night, I object that drunks are with…

Would rate it 10 stars if I could

Just bought my second Planet Bike SuperFlash. I used the first one for several years before part of the case cracked. My old light still works but I didn't want it to get wet so I bought a new one. Mostly I drive until dawn, sometimes with others who have the same light. Whether it's a clear night or a fog, this light is incredibly bright and penetrating. I always use flash mode and have never had a problem with a passing car. Batteries last a long time. The new flashlight has a rubber on/off…

Pros
  • Attaches to almost any bike with bike mounts and clip
Cons
  • Nothing

The only safety light you will ever need

I ride and wear it on the back of my helmet. It definitely grabs your attention, to say the least. Looking directly at the turn signal is painful to the eyes and I'm sure other drivers will see it immediately. Don't be put off by the higher price, other cheap LED security lights can also glow in the dark compared to this sticker. This light instantly increases your visibility to motorists and is truly designed with safety in mind. Spend $20 and get this, you'll be glad you paid a little more…

Pros
  • EBIKE READY: Great light to alert other riders and riders to your bike
Cons
  • Doubt

Burnt twice, sorry

I've bought two of these in the last three years for tail flashing. Given the mostly high praise and reviews here, I feel like I got two that eluded quality control. The first died when the lid detached from the back of the block. Note that I was riding on a flat bike path; it wasn't like walking on a bumpy road. As a precaution, I attached the back cover of the second device with a rubber band. It stopped working after about three months of use, so I replaced the original batteries with new…

Cons
  • Upgradeable

Easy to use, bright and affordable.

Planet Bike Superflash rear light (and available headlight) is battery operated, which seems rare for bike lights these days. I'm not interested in constantly turning my two lamps on and off to charge them - who thought that was a good idea? Batteries last a long time and cost you very little compared to the increased price of USB rechargeable flashlights. In my experience, Planet Bike products are waterproof, but I have not yet ridden them in continuous rain. The light is more than bright…

Pros
  • visibility 1 mile; runs 100 hours on 2 AA batteries
Cons
  • old

I have one of these lights. I like that it runs on batteries and the run time is very long on a single set of batteries. There are also options for mounting on the seat post and with a clip on the saddlebag (or bag on the trunk). It was a great light by the standards of 5 years ago (yes, this light has been around for a long time!). However, by today's standards, its brightness is mediocre at best - just 7 lumens! A lot of taillights you get today range from 50 to 200. Just today we got in my…

Pros
  • WATER RESISTANCE: Sturdy outer casing ensures water resistance
Cons
  • Transparency

Update: I've had five of these (for my six bikes) and have lost four of them in the last 3 years or so. One went over a rough RR intersection, the lights went out, skidded across the road and straight into the storm sewer - definitely unlucky. The other three are a big disappointment. I'm coming home from a bike ride, only the white back is attached to my bike, the lights and batteries fell out somewhere on the road. Lowering my rating from 5 stars to 2 for this design flaw. Due to that recent…

Pros
  • BATTERY POWERED BICYCLE LIGHT: Powered by two AAA batteries
