Review on πŸ”Š High-Quality Asus VH242H 23.6 Inch Integrated Speakers: 1920X1080, 165 Refresh Rate, Wide Screen - Best Buy by Meech Bell

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good saturated colors, I wish the viewing area was larger.

I'm not a big fan of ultrawide screens, as they make video games and pictures fun, plus it's not the natural way Windows projects images onto the screen. Depending on how you set it up, ultra wide view may or may not distort desktop icons. You can change the display settings slightly with the resolution setting, but not by much. PROS: This extremely vivid color monitor replaced the much more expensive 19-inch DELL 1907 and ASUS beat it by a wide margin. like Lance winning the Leadville 100 against Vince in 2009, it's come a long way. I have a GForce 7950 GX2 1Gb graphics card which cost me $400 back then (2007) and is still better than many extreme PC gaming graphics cards, OMG, now I can enjoy high resolution results, water reflections, fire, smoke, fog, shiny surfaces like never before. I didn't realize how much I was missing until I installed this ASUS screen. CONS: No height adjustable stand so much cheaper. The sound from the speakers isn't the best, but it does the job and I have a Creative 5.1 sound card system that does the job anyway. Another thing I don't like is that I wish it wasn't as wide or taller than the height of the display face. I also find it too stretched for my taste, but that too is a matter of getting used to. Recommendations: Yes I recommend this monitor it's worth every penny the colors I believe I said before trust me the first few days you will just sit and look at the screen lol. The adjustable stand isn't a big deal since my desk has been given a small platform and also while you can swivel the monitor up and down, in other words you can have the display face up or down. At work we have many monitors, NEC, DELL, LG, ACER and SAMSUNG, and while the one I have at home, ASUS, is much better, tone, saturation, contrast, brightness, etc.
