It came in a sealed plastic bag with everything you need including a tiny screwdriver for the M2 screw. Since it's just an adapter, no configuration is required and the drive boots into Windows as expected with good CrystalMark speeds (3.3 GB/s read and write). I bought this to fix an issue with a Gigabyte z390 Aorus Pro motherboard where the M2 drive would randomly stop being recognized resulting in a blue screen. The problem was intermittent so I won't know for a few weeks if this actually fixed the issue, but at this point this adapter isn't any slower than plugging directly into the M2 slot on the motherboard. 1 Month Update: This adapter seems to have solved the Z390 M2 hard drive disappearing (blue screen) issue. I haven't had that since installing this adapter.
