I just came from a dentist and he recommended this product to me. My dog has two broken teeth with exposed roots and the chlorhexidine kills all the germs in the mouth. He also says to add it to my daily brushing. I can apply it after cleansing or it's a great option for days when I don't have time to cleanse. I'm a medical doctor and chlorhexidine is a surgical scrub that prepares you for surgery. It kills everything and rids your dog's mouth of plaque. I used it on my face and cured a terrible case of cystic acne that Kutan didn't have. Trust me this is a smart purchase. My dogs had no problem with this, but I decided to add it to their favorite toothpaste while brushing and then rub the same combination into my teeth and leave it there. I will only try the gel after brushing my teeth. It also saves you a lot of money on hiring your dentist. Won't need them that often
