My husband washed an old red and cream duvet in the machine. Of course, the redness spread all over the cream. I bought these and machine washed the duvet with 1/3 of a bottle of water and a few sheets of Shout. It took two attempts, but the ceiling is almost perfect. The pale pink hue is only visible in a few places and only in bright sunlight.
