Review on πŸ” Power Probe PWP-PPECT3000: Efficient Short/Open Electrical Circuit Tester - ECT3000 by Joe Calabro

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Disappointing on electrics

I've been using this unit continuously for two months and I think that's enough time to form an opinion. circuit diagnostic method recognized as faster and more accurate; and the tool didn't cost $130. It probably works well on cars, but not so well on trucks. This isn't a criticism of the instrument, but trucks contain a lot more metal in the chassis, which interferes with the receiver's ability to follow the signal. Current short circuit monitoring. I was led to believe that the device can be used in an active circuit, which is not possible - the circuit must be fully isolated. It's the definitive and only method I really trust, but this tool doesn't get you much more than a low impedance incandescent bulb that costs a lot less than $130. Other observations are: In short, the transmitter hanger needs to be made and constantly modified Probe tips are too wide and can cause connection problems where they didn't exist before Cheap in quality - it won't last six months in perfect condition. Shop "Short to circuit cannot be traced" High impedance - will not stress the suspected circuit and will not detect a slight or intermittent fault" Self-penetrating probes are dangerous when used in modern vehicles - abuse of these leads is definitely becoming a problem create where it didn't exist before.
