So far so good! for home audio

I've been using this for less than a week, but it's already a lot more comfortable for watching movies. Our 50-inch Samsung Smart TV has good sound, but its speakers face down directly into the TV stand. In addition, the sound was often quite quiet. This soundbar projects sound forward and the subwoofer adds a nice deep booming layer of sound when needed. The preset equalizer function in Movie mode lets you hear the actors' voices, and even more so if you use the dialog setting. Initially, but reading the instructions solved the problem immediately. I switched the TV's audio output from Dolby to PCM and everything is fine. The only disappointment with using the optical input is that the TV's volume remote has no effect on the soundbar's output. I can turn the TV volume down to zero and the soundbar isn't affected, so both remotes are needed to set up a movie. Screen. I found that it also blocks the TV remote's IR sensor, which requires us to hold the remote above our head to control the TV. The solution was to elevate the TV a bit by resting the legs on a couple of short pieces of wood. I will paint the blocks black and they will never be visible. Problem solved.
