I chose the Reference One headphones based on my experience with the Klipsch Reference ONE in-ear headphones. Like their full-size counterparts, they have a balanced sound, which I prefer. At the same time, there is enough low end, but not at the expense of mid and high frequencies, so that the full range of music passes through them. They also keep up in terms of efficiency, my iPhone controls them with ease and I don't have to crank the volume to the max to get enough sound. The fit is one of the best I've come across, blocking out most outside noise - the trick is finding a tip that fits your ear canal. I've read reviews that made a fuss about the cables and I agree that they are very thick and stiff by today's headphone standards. However, I prefer this as it reflects better build quality and durability so it's not an issue for me. During use, the plug has never been pulled out of a pocket iPhone, so a thick wire is not an obstacle. The only gripe - I had to choose the option without the Apple remote buttons - I just couldn't justify the thirty-five. Forty-five point headphone point bonus. I have them on my overhead version and they work very well hence the remote control is missed. Other reviewers state that their sound gets sweeter over time, so I assume the best is yet to come. Very happy with this purchase.
