I used these cables to extend the YI camera power cables. They work great and can transfer data (tested on my Xbox 360 controller first). While gold connectors don't improve digital signals, they do make them more valuable. I would suggest if you're looking to expand a device that needs more power or higher transfer speeds, use a USB 3.0 extension instead of USB 2.0 (like this one).
