If you have a cheap Crosley phono stage and it sounds crappy, it's probably the stylus. I ordered one for $10-13 and it fits great. The sound quality is similar to the sound we all boomers heard in the 60's. prickly, but something warm. let's say the pen has a low quality level. it will play vinyl, but don't expect brilliant sound. Worth it if you just want the thrill of old crappy 33 LPs. Someone gave the player and about 40 amazing and rare vinyl records of the 60's and 70's. There's a USB port on the back and if I can put tracks into my songs I'll box them up and sell them to a hipster who loves vinyl. it would be impossible. mostly in star rating
