I spent over $600 converting old VHS family videos to digital and decided on a Bipra External HD to store them. I've had this product less than 3 months and have only used it SEVERAL times before it became undetectable when plugged into USB. I'm aware that you should "eject" the external hard drive and not just pull it out, but I've found that when used with a laptop, any movement of the cable will rip the USB out on its own. It only happened once or twice. Luckily the relative has backup copies of these videos, but imagine if not? I know this is one of the cheaper external hard drives listed here on Amazon, but I figured it had more to do with the small amount of storage that suits my needs, rather than the quality.
