Review on πŸ’‘ Enhanced GE Lighting 63003 Industrial Electrical Replacement with 750 Lumen Output by Brittany Johnson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I no longer need LED lamps. Not even LIFX.

I will only return to LED lighting when the lighting technology surpasses incandescent and halogen lamps in terms of dimmability. Energy efficiency is no longer a priority for me. Goodbye LEDs. Excuse the grainy photo as it was taken by my Nexus 6P but at 11% the GE Soft White 43W bulbs offer decent brightness and it's not that bright at all. I can set the brightness in Home Assistant to around 0, Set 4% of the brightness but I can't see it until I turn off the monitor and my eyes can adjust to the brightness the bulb is putting out? Why did I give up smart devices? lightbulb? You can't compare smart light bulbs to incandescent and halogen bulbs. No questions. I want the smoothness of incandescent/halogen bulbs and I want the bulbs to be as dim as I don't want LED bulbs! not high on my list when it comes to lighting. And the fact that GE lamps can switch on continuously from 0 to 100% in a certain transition time (called "ramp rate" by Insteon) is a plus point compared to LED lamps. LED bulbs can only turn on when a certain percentage is reached, say 10%. But that 10% for LEDs is not the same as 10% for incandescent and halogen bulbs. LED bulbs can't get that low because of electronic circuitry.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
