This item is great! It took me and a friend 15 minutes and a glass of whiskey (as recommended by someone in the Q&A section) to put it together. We used Loctite just to be sure. Very easy to assemble, instructions were very clear and key parts are color coded. It even comes with the tools you need to get the job done. Once together I put a nice 14 inch king size memory foam mattress on it and had no problems. When my two huge dogs get up and get off him, he doesn't make a sound. When it's my girlfriend and I's turn, no sound! Seems pretty sturdy as I'm 6ft 2" and a little over 300lbs and my boyfriend is 5ft 10 and 160lbs. The dogs together weigh 250 pounds per pair and all four on them at once make no noise or movement whatsoever. Each of the legs has 2 pre-drilled holes at the top for the headboard.
