I wore it over a second hand 1930's cocktail dress to a large formal wedding. I was planning on being more conservative but when it did I was in love with the colors and the length, really something of a 1920's scarf, the kind you look for but never find. So I got dressed and decided to be theatrical but not costumed. I love all the extras! Every other woman at the wedding (besides the bride) wore a loose sleeveless dress (summer) with either pearls or lace on the sides (to make you look slimmer, but it just tells everyone you're trying to look slimmer). ) and a sweater with sequins. I swear I've seen the same dress on forty people. I myself have looked at a million of these dresses and just couldn't. I am so happy I wore a black satin dress that made me look plump and sexy with high satin heels and that fabulous shawl draped over my shoulder. It was so cozy and beautiful! And different. Ladies, wear what YOU love regardless of your size, shape or what you SHOULD look like. You will have a great time and be BEAUTIFUL!
