Put some paper between the presser foot holder and the press bar to get a measly quarter inch.

As one reviewer pointed out, this is not a measly quarter inch. It's more like a quarter inch + side. To adjust it, I placed three folded paper towels (1/4" x 3/8") in the foot holder between the sewing bar and the foot holder. Poke a hole in the center of the paper towel with a stiletto. Then slide the foot through the paper towel. This is how you can adjust the small width.
