Review on Blackhole Cat Litter Mat Rectangular by Stephanie Polomik

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I want to give this item more than 5 stars!

I looked at this item for a while every time I was looking for another cat litter mat because mine once again didn't live up to expectations and was also sometimes destroyed by my animals. What has ALWAYS put me off buying this (even though it sounded/looked promising) is the PRICE! 40 dollars?! I paid it for buddy before; but it was at the pet store and for a rug I could buy at Revain for $20. So if I were to equate this price to one of my previous mats it would be $60 as that is the price it sells in pet stores. Just wanted to try and find a good one for $20-25! Well I've been trying for years! And while some of them were pretty good, they either just picked up a ton of junk from the TOP to spread all over the floor, or they were a REAL SICKNESS to clean it up completely (and still didn't take that much garbage up). as I would have liked)! This one is so different from any I've bought before. After trying SO MANY and making a list of issues I had with all of them, I KNEW what specific qualities I needed. 1) Draft. All the others were really just a surface, although some had ugly rubber twists and turns. on top so dirt is "locked in" underneath. The problem with them was that they didn't do anything to ensure the litter fell BETWEEN the paws and any texture on them wasn't high enough to have little to no litter 'below' the surface. However, this mat eliminated BOTH of these design flaws. These are TWO surfaces. A completely flat surface on the underside to allow the litter to slide out easily when dumped, and the top surface is a "honeycomb" design of medium-sized bulges that actually (not unpleasantly, but effectively) DISSOLVE cat's paws, i.e. any dirt , which they try to take away, falls into the lower layer of traps. The two pieces are joined on both sides but not the top and bottom so you can easily poke a hole to get rid of dirt when you lift it to empty. I have two LARGE cats and it takes a few days before I even have to empty them. Material. All of my other carpets were almost impossible to clean completely. They were either bamboo or cloth, or the texture design (though almost entirely ineffective) was too woven to clean well. It's a rubber material with a much more widely spaced honeycomb design; If your cats (or anyone else) get dirty this rug, it's EASY to clean. I just take a Lysol napkin, make a few napkins and you're done! It's also very light and flexible; Therefore, despite its size, it is very easy to use. My tray is in a very small space (laundry room in apartment) and this mat is actually the easiest to use I've ever had! Durability - Despite being a lightweight, easy to clean and flexible material, it is also EXTREMELY durable. . The quality is impressive and everything is very well put together. Efficiency - I've talked about that several times, but "the proof is always in the pudding", the proof with the garbage mat ON YOUR FLOORS! I used to have to sweep and vacuum every area next to my crate several times a day! Now I can do it every other day at most! All in all - this is by far the BEST toilet mat I have ever owned or come across! Just think how much money I wasted on others because I didn't want to spend $40 on this one. Knowing that I know how IMPORTANT the difference is, I could easily have spent over $60! Trust me, you don't want to procrastinate and waste your time and money like me!
