These are good cases. When building a project, you always have the option of using Hammond's extruded aluminum box. But if you're building something special, use a die-cast aluminum box like this one. It's a bit small. Larger available. However, use cast aluminum (at least that's what I call it, I think die casting is the same thing) if you have an important project. Otherwise, extruded aluminum is probably good enough. I have to say that cast aluminum boxes are a bit easier to drill than extruded aluminum boxes, but maybe that's me. I've used these die-cast (die-cast?) aluminum cases on many instruments. I have made. If you go to the trouble of building something really good, use cast aluminum.
