It is not uncommon for jewelery to contain lead due to the nature of the metal and its traces. That's why jewelry components usually say 15+, so I found it a bit odd that it says it's for kids and 8+ but contains lead. These are nominal and trace amounts, but nonetheless. The set itself is cute, but there are some issues with it. In my set, the round nose pliers were rusted and didn't work properly. They kept getting stuck and didn't want to open and close properly. They are also clumsy and difficult to hold. I have a pair of pliers that we used instead. I also used some wire cutters on the storage wire because the length is pre-cut. All lengths are also scattered and not split, so you need to pick a piece and see if it's a single, double, or even quadruple loop. Gaskets are indicated in the instructions in the kit, and up to 7 holes are indicated in the gasket. Bar. They are not included with this size and instead there are only six spacer bars with three bead holes on the inside. The content is good in terms of the beads included and all the colors. This is a good can and there is a good range for the price. We were only disappointed by the length of the memory wires, the lack of standoffs, and the small needle nose pliers that came with it. The wire is pretty tough so you definitely need an adult to do this. I've also used wire cutters and recommend the ones I have on hand. It's worth getting if you grab a pair of pliers on the side and some wire cutters, but you'll definitely need some value-added extras to make it worth it if you don't want to be disappointed. I also used regular pliers to pinch my end circles together to keep them from scratching, as well as 28 gauge wire to weave the pieces together so they aren't too flexible.
