GREAT FAN AND LIGHT AT A GREAT PRICE

We just installed this fan in our low ceiling bedroom and are very happy with it! It looks and works exactly as advertised. Very quiet and so much BREEZE! I mean it blows my hair 5 feet away. Of course, that's partly because our ceiling is only 7ft 2in high. IMPORTANT DETAILS: The fan measures exactly 13.4 inches from the ceiling to the bottom of one of the glass spheres. This is the lowest profile I have found on a hanging glass fan. globes. Those with a closed cup light only hang down 11-12 inches but don't emit much light. As it is above the bed and nobody will go under it, this is not a problem for us. .Four 5.5 watt LED bulbs put out LOTS of light - just what I wanted. Oh the lightbulbs were on with the fan! style your hair), medium-high (which I would consider high on any other fan), medium (this is where we leave it for air movement) low (which is still moving steadily, but not enough breeze to move it felt a few meters.) I have no idea if it should have 4 speeds but it does and we're fine with that. INSTALLATION: We installed this ourselves - mostly my husband. In the 30 years that he has owned the house he has installed quite a few fans for us, relatives and friends. However, everyone is different and follow the instructions step by step. This ran smoothly. It attaches securely to the mount without dangling. (See tips below) There is plenty of room in the motor housing for your connections and there is enough room in the lamp housing for easy color coded wiring. **BONUS** Includes a metal bracket that extends outside of the case. a standard mounting bracket to which you can place and connect the remote control receiver when you need it. We don't use a remote control and have never seen a fan with such a dedicated remote control attachment, but this is a brilliant idea! FAN BLADES: After the motor and fan housing were installed, we installed the blades. The "easy connect" wing nuts make it very easy to attach the blades to the metal arms. They have a Phillips head and we turned each a little to tighten them before attaching the metal fan blades to the fan housing. TIP: Rotate the bracket housing so the open notch (you can see it) lines up with the screw holes needed to attach the metal arms to the fan housing. We then turned on the power to make sure the fan was working. Everything was good. (CHECK THE FAN BEFORE CONNECTING THE LIGHT - you won't want to unplug everything if you find you connected the fan incorrectly.) Then we turn off the breaker and install the light and bulbs. Once they were installed, we turned on the power to make sure the fan was working. Everything was good. Then we turn off the switch and install the lamp and light bulbs. ONE SMALL PROBLEM: The tiny screws holding the bottom half of the bracket were difficult to get into the tiny holes. I had to rotate and slide the case up while my husband screwed in the screws. Once in place, all we had to do was attach the spheres to the sockets already with the screw mounts and then screw in the bulbs - oh, and four LED bulbs came in one pack! MOMENT OF TRUTH: After turning on the power, my husband was honored to flick the switch and pull the light circuit. And – there was LIGHT – a lot! Fan circuit pulled and. . . NOTHING! Aha! The dizziness started in earnest. After all, the fan was working fine 15 minutes ago before attaching the light. And the wiring for the light has been completely separated from the wiring for the fan. What could happen?! Pooh! I reached out and flipped the little switch that reverses the fan just to see what happens. And voila! The fan worked in reverse! After turning off the fan and flipping the switch again, it also worked as expected. HOORAY! LESSON LEARNED: When attaching lighting fixtures, make sure you don't hit the reverse button. If it's in the middle and not on one side or the other, your fan isn't working! BENEFITS: Includes a small package of small weights called a "leveling kit" in case your fan wobbles. You can attach them to the tips of a pair of blades to balance them if needed. We've never seen that in a fan kit before. But the only reason your fan wobbles is if your ceiling isn't level or your electrical box in the ceiling isn't level. Make sure your ceiling is level before installing the fan motor or adjust the bracket so it is level. I am buying two more for other bedrooms! I'll be posting updates in a few months!
