Review on Enhance Communication Range with RS485 CAN HAT for Raspberry Pi 4B/3B+/3B/2B/B+/A+/Zero/Zero W/WH by Megan Anderson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Worked on a Raspberry Pi for the first time

I bought this expecting some problems to get it working - sort of standard for this budget device. I was a little surprised at how quick it was. There is a wiki page that explains how to modify the Pi's config.txt file to adjust the CAN baud rate and tarball with some example code. The drivers were already included in the Pi distribution. I downloaded it and the device was there - configured some settings for the SocketCAN interface with ifconfig, created the sample code, plugged in a $500 Kvaser PC CAN USB interface and it worked - both sending and receiving. good business.

Pros
  • Good stuff
