Review on Enhanced Sony ICD-UX200 Digital Voice Recorder with Integrated Stereo Microphone (Silver) by Robert Ryokan

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Perfect for school lectures!

I bought this for my nursing lectures as there was too much information to include for my liking! This little voice recorder works great! STORAGE: Even on the best quality settings, I've been able to record at least a week's worth of lectures, about 2 hours each. BATTERY LIFE: The battery life is also very long, I only charge it once a week. the week. If you have a laptop, you can use the USB port to charge it in class. FORMAT: The recordings are already in mp3 format, so you don't have to worry about converting them for other purposes. Be careful when choosing settings. It defaults to the highest quality and you can easily have huge files over 100MB. I recently turned the sound quality down a bit, but it sounds normal for my purposes. I'm sitting in a large lecture hall that can accommodate over 100 students. I'm usually in the middle rows and the teachers speak through a portable microphone. It picks up their information perfectly, albeit a little weaker when they're not using a microphone. You can easily ask for it to be placed closer to the front and that will probably solve the problem. I can download files to my computer to burn onto a CD, or plug in headphones and listen to lectures straight from the device! (This is great for studying a book while playing lecture notes to keep up). There's a pause feature for taking breaks without having to create a new file, and 10 folders so you can organize your files without having to replay each one to find out what class it is. (I usually write the name of the file in my notes so I know which lecture is which.) Overall it was a great choice and invaluable for my studies!
