Quality 101 in Computers & Accessories

Let's talk about the Amcrest UltraHD ProStream 5 megapixel webcam designed for streamers. This AWC5100 impresses with overall quality compared to the price. The camera itself is great for general use. I had to turn off the autofocus feature because it was trying too hard to focus on too many spots at once. It might require some development work. The resolution of this camera corresponds to the maximum resolution, but if you decrease the quality, you cannot increase the frame rate. Increased frame rate with reduced quality should be a built-in feature of this camera, but it doesn't exist. The standard exposure seems too high, but in the software you can adjust it to the right values that the camera technology needs. This review didn't really focus on the sound quality as it didn't pick up the audio very well at monitor distances to be satisfactory. My audience immediately noticed the improvement in camera quality and color change. Colors appear warmer and brighter through this webcam. One of the best features of this camera is the built-in protective case that literally just opens or closes. No annoying lid floating over it or manual tape to protect your privacy, a simple slide is enough. I've found in my streaming software that with some small tweaks, the slide can get confusing and needs to be reset from time to time, but not every time. No software was required to use the camera, but the camera only required simple downloaded software that will not interfere with your daily computer work. A 6.8 foot cable is a good choice for any activity. There is a ring around the camera that lets you know if it's active or idle. This is useful to know if you are live or recording. I'd recommend disabling anything that's automatic if you're using it for streaming, as it tends to slow down the automatic settings. Overall I am very impressed with the quality of this webcam and would recommend it to any streamer on a budget. After a few weeks of use, it's still working and I haven't had any major issues with its performance. Since they're under $100, they're not lying to the consumer when they say "premium HD video quality." The AWC5100 is a quality contender in the entertainment webcam market. You get what you pay for in this world and this product cheated the system and did everything it could to make something so simple and accessible to the consumer. Buy for yourself and find out how it affects the output quality of your media files.
