We needed something to put under our son's car that was dripping some oil. Since it's parked in the driveway, we needed something heavy enough to keep it from exploding. This rug will not absorb oil but protects the driveway and we wipe the oil down every few weeks. The rug comes rolled up so before using it I laid it out with objects in the corners for a few days and now it lies flat. So far this has worked well for us.
