Great starter or upgrade kit. The beads don't melt as well as Perler, but it's a minor difference and they blend together beautifully. I recommend buying additional boards to connect or a very large board. Another reason to buy this specifically for use with a Perler, as the colors on offer are unique and useful for creating something with a little detail to get the right nuances. Using them in combination with Perler gives you many options. My only two concerns are the number of pink beads included as I don't need that color that often and 5 or 6 varieties of pink could be better replaced with almost any other variation of primary colors like red blue green etc. And secondly broke the square one Pad after a week or two of use when it fell from a height of 2 or 3 feet onto a vinyl floor. Not such a big deal as I had a large board which wasn't included but something to be aware of. Overall I'm very happy with this kit and it's a fantastic price. But I would come back anytime.
