accurate, inexpensive, easy to read

This is a very good pedometer. It has a functional sensitivity adjustment with locks that prevent it from changing after installation. very positive and always prevents the PE326 from accidentally opening on your waist (it doesn't count steps when open). If you want to read it, the display is arranged so the numbers are big enough and far enough apart for older eyes to see without glasses. It's backlit so you can read it when the lighting isn't ideal. The reset button is far from other controls, so accidentally clearing the total step count is never a problem. It's very durable: I've dropped it onto hard floors and concrete many times with no noticeable loss of accuracy. to the left, set the least sensitive settings, reset the counter, close the counter and walk 100 even steps. Review the readings and repeat the exercise for each click while adjusting the sensitivity and using the setting that is most accurate for you. and Zip side by side for several months, and when walking, they converged to within 2%. The PE326 is actually more selective than the Fitbit Zip for step counting: it never shows you steps while driving, while the Zip can be tricked into logging some steps during commutes. The battery life is very good and also better. as a zip. It is much easier to read when attached to a belt than when zipped. Finally, the PE326 is very cheap: you can buy three of them for the price of one Fitbit Zip, and that's important because one day you'll lose your pedometer :-(The worst I can say is that the locking for The cover is sometimes TOO positive for new users (there is a way to open it that is not immediately obvious); it could be a little thinner; when walking it makes a slightly audible ticking; and for maximum accuracy it is important to keep it to wear in the same place on the belt when you walk and when you have calibrated the sensitivity setting I have used pedometers my whole life since the giant red/silver Walk-a-Matic and this PE326 is my absolute favorite to share it with would recommend everyone as their first (and possibly only) pedometer.
