I have to say I was skeptical as sometimes the reviews really aren't right. I had the choice between this and Mr. Coffee's thermo-vacuum coffee maker. I used to have a KitchenAid 12 cup professional coffee maker. I broke the carafe so I needed a new carafe but since the carafe was $30 I decided to look for a new coffee maker. This appeared on Reddit as a good choice. I was skeptical. I thought maybe it's just the engineers who don't like the coffee themselves, I brewed my first cup and damn I was happy. My coffee has been bland lately, even though I freshly grind the beans. I grabbed the awful Starbucks just for a little refreshment. Well, this coffee maker brewed coffee so strong, deep, and full-bodied that it retained the taste of fresh beans. It was delicious. Thank you for bringing back my love of coffee! I'm in love.
