DO NOT CONNECT TO THE SPEAKER OUTPUT OF THE AMPLIFIER WITHOUT EXCESSIVE CAUTION!

First, they are great little units. Second, these are VIMETER! The volume meter is designed and intended for LOW signal levels. a weak signal of about 0.3 volts is ZERO dB on these meters and about 3.25 volts on FULL scale. This is a normal case for a real volume meter. That's why these little gems come with the board, providing a method of connecting volume meters to a higher level signal source such as a preamp output or standard line level. signal source between audio components. The rotary potentiometers have 25 turns so you can have a very fine resolution adjustment to match the meter to your signal levels. It is VERY important that you understand that the input to this board is for standard ground. Signals to the left and right inputs. This applies to audio component connections and preamp outputs connected to power amplifiers. THIS IS NOT AS COMMON to amplifier OUTPUTS going to speakers. MANY amplifiers have differential outputs that drive both the positive and negative terminals of the amplifier to the speaker, so all speaker terminals are driven, NOT grounded, and even MAY OR NOT be grounded. WARNING: If you MUST connect this to your amplifier's speaker outputs, CAREFULLY FOLLOW THE FOLLOWING STEPS APPLICABLE TO YOUR AMPLIFIER! Amplifier outputs and connections to this board.1. - Amplifier with speaker output fully grounded, driven only by the positive output of the amplifier. - Connect the right positive speaker of the amplifier to the RIGHT signal input on the board. Connect LEFT in the same way. Connect the common input to left or right common (-) ground.2. - An amplifier with a bipolar output connected to ground and both positive and negative speaker outputs driven with opposite polarity to ground. - Connect the right positive speaker of the amplifier to the RIGHT signal input on the board. Connect LEFT in the same way. DO NOT connect the common input to the speaker output, otherwise you will most likely destroy your amplifier! Connect the common input to either a grounded common point on your amp, this can be difficult to determine, you may need help from someone familiar with your amp or additional assistance from your amp supplier. - DO NOT USE THIS OUT CONNECTED TO THE SPEAKER AS DAMAGE MAY RESULT.
