They seem to fit and twist, but did not catch fire. After checking the polarity, I decided to remove the bulb from the socket and solder it directly to the circuit board. Kind of flatbread, but I'd rather do the work once than have to rework because of the flickering lights. The bulbs themselves burn very brightly, I blushed and I am satisfied with the light output.
