I enjoy music through all kinds of audio devices, some of which reach the audiophile level. * This Altec Lansing lacks the clarity I would expect from a brand. At full retail price, this is a little disappointing if sound quality is your main concern. However, the price is justified for a durable speaker that you can take anywhere without hesitation. You're paying for durability and the ability to produce noise levels in the decibel range. Maybe the secret is in the equalizer app, but the app has such a low Google Play rating that I'd rather use a third-party equalizer. high. I'm not sure if it was due to a few charges or perhaps a loud (no distortion) volume that opened up the speaker again. It's a little cleaner than fresh out of the box and charged overnight. Bass bloat has been reduced to the point where it no longer encroaches on the mids, and the highs have cleared up a bit. Again, the battery may have needed a few charges or the speaker took some playback time to open up, but the sound is noticeably better. I would give it 4.5 stars based on the fact that it's still an expensive speaker. 2nd Edit: While the sound quality is consistent with first impressions, I used this speaker until it ran out of power. Battery life is unmatched by many other BT speakers of this size.
