An easy way to turn a spare hard drive or solid state drive into a USB flash drive. Ideal for backup, cloning and multimedia. You don't need an expensive case. And the hard drive runs cooler and lasts longer without a case. I connected an old WD 5400rpm 1TB drive to my mini pc that I use on my TV and it works great. I programmed the drive to slow down when not in use so it would last for decades. On USB3 I get about 65 MB/s, which is normal for a 5400 RPM drive. Tried with an SSD and it was many times faster. Yes, you need a power supply for large (3.5") desktop hard drives, but small (2.5") laptop and SSD drives don't need one as USB3 powers them easily. The device and its power supply appear to be well made and do not cause any radio interference to nearby radios. I recommend. - KV5R
