I trust Plugable for USB accessories because they are not an anonymous importer. The website contains detailed specifications for each product and compatibility information. I'm happy with the read and write speeds of this state-of-the-art flash card reader, which comes in both versions (USB-C for my MacBook). and original (USB-A, for my Raspberry Pi boards). Correction August 5, 2020: Unfortunately, the SD and MicroSD card slots are not independent in this reader. Only one or the other works at a time, which is inconvenient when copying data.
