These bags may be a little thicker than tissue paper but they do exactly what they are supposed to do and I have had no problems with them being torn because of the thinness. I think if you like squeezing the tea bag out after the tea spills I can see it tearing but I don't and I haven't had a single tea bag tear yet. I use one sachet to brew about 2 cups of tea. The bags are large enough to allow the leaves to unfurl and particles will never float through the bag or off the top of the tight bag. I have no complaints about that.
