I rounded the top of the hill only to find a steep hairpin turn down with tons of gravel on the sides. I braked to slow as much as possible, cornered hard, scraped the road with my footpegs and was barely injured until the wheels hit the gravel and I braked at about 35 mph. Went down the road about 100 feet, over gravel, then into a small ravine with bushes and trees. Now if you look at my legs you will think maybe I wrestled too roughly on a mat, just a very slight burn on the bottom of my left leg from the friction. However, look at the pants and they tell a different story. They're fully shredded, but most of it is where the filling is. I was wearing nothing but my boxers underneath, the entire right back cheek of my pants had been ripped off, but it had absorbed enough of the impact to leave a light abrasion on my boxers underneath. Definitely buy another pair, these things have saved me the hassle of transplanting skin from where it shouldn't be to where it's no longer there. Ultimately, I think this is the most important thing when it comes to gear.
