The lid is about 1 1/2 inches wider than the base so when you use the stool it swings back and forth. My 35 pound dog sat on the footstool and rocked back and forth. The lid immediately cracked in the corner. Need a board at the bottom to make it more solid. The lid should have an inner rim to make it more durable. The entire lid is cracked around the perimeter. Very bad design. not worth your money. Walmart was better quality but smaller.
