I went on Ebay and bought an old Audio-Technica shotgun that works great and a Lyx Pro for $25. However, I've heard that Peter McKinnon and Curtis Judd use NTG2 (at least sometimes). Rather than not receiving any warranty, I ordered directly from Revain (rather than Revain, which voids the warranty). Bought this new one. I got it shipped and plugged it in and when I use the mic which is AC plugged into my Zoom F4 there is an electrical hum. This hum has disappeared on battery power with the Zoom F4. Strange. Even the cheap $25 Lyx shotgun doesn't do that. I have other Rode mics (Broadcaster, smartLav+, Video MicMe) and they all work very well. I was very stunned to discover that I was having audio issues with this NTG2 microphone. I like the quality of the microphone when there is no noise. That sounds good. I'll keep it at 3 stars until Rode responds to my inquiry and lets me know if this is the case with the mic or if there are any possible defects/repairs available.
