Was looking for a better place to put my coffee while sitting on the couch. This tray looked exactly what I needed. I liked how it looked when I took it out of the box. The finish is very nice. But I had to send her back because she didn't feel safe on the armrest of my couch. I tried several positions but couldn't manage to put a cup of hot coffee on it. The problem isn't with the holder itself. I can say it would be safe on other forms of sofa armrests. The armrest of my couch is rounded at the top and sticks out a bit more than the rest of the couch. The round surface was not a problem. The problem is that the clip isn't long enough to touch the flat side of the couch. It is located at the transition between the rounded part of the arm and the flat side. The fabric in the armrest is not supported by the frame like the rest of the armrest. I would not recommend this for a sofa that has a 10-15cm area at the top where you can push on the fabric and it will give. The round surface is not a problem, the clamp is strong enough to prevent the tray from tipping over. If your sofa is hard in the area where you want the clamp to sit, I would highly recommend this tray. I have returned the tray with great regret.
