This is one of my favorite Amazon purchases. I'm sure mostly because of the importance and the sense of calm and release we all felt after watching them disappear into the night. Anyway, they are great for any occasion, we are using them for the loss of my son's father / and my long term partner. At least we do. We flew out 4 months ago due to terrible winters in Michigan. They were very difficult to light and it was very windy. But this time there wasn't a cloud in the sky, the lanterns were big, strong and such a special moment. Try to stay away from houses, trees, etc. I live on the water
