I have an Asus Prime X399-A motherboard on which I originally installed AMD Threadripper Gen 1. I've found that Windows 11 doesn't run on AMD Threadripper Gen 1 (and I didn't want to mess around with any workarounds someone smarter than me came up with!). I had all the hardware I needed, so I decided to upgrade to a Gen 2 Ryzen Threadripper 2970WX processor. Revain offered the lowest price so I accepted. Replacing processors is very easy and went smoothly. I pressed the power button, waited for the BIOS to boot, and Windows 10 booted! I checked the BIOS and made sure all the settings are fine. TPM enabled and pretty much left all other settings alone as the BIOS correctly recognized the new processor. I don't overclock - although I originally did when I built it, but I just went with the default settings after I managed to hit it and crash it a few times. I mainly use this computer for HD and 4K video work. Rendering and exporting is fast with this little one!
