Review on 🚰 Enhanced Survivor Filter PRO Extender Series with Additional Filters by Bill Escobar

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Everyone should have one or two!

This is one of the three parts of my emergency preparedness water plan. First, I use a 5 gallon bucket to collect the dirty water from my local pond, then I coarsely filter that water through a t-shirt (I like antimicrobial, quick-drying ones) into another 5 gallon bucket, then I use this bad boy to physically use it to filter the water to "0.01 micron" and then it finally hits my burke. Berkey can handle dirty water directly, but that shortens the life of the filter, so I prime the water. If I suspect high virus levels (people camping/defecating near a water source, flooding, etc.) I can treat the water with my solar powered chlorine generator (pocket unit) and the Florina smell and taste will be removed later Berkey.0 .01 micron - nominal (average) pore size, meaning practically nothing, ABSOLUTELY bad size (largest pore in filter) - 0.025 micron. I base this on the fact that this filter has been successfully tested against a 0.025 micron virus (this is also what the company told me). It's not too bad, the next smallest pore size I'm aware of is MSR and ranges from $89-$350 with a poor size of 0.02 and can only handle about 396 gallons per filter which isn't exactly good for any strain is. long-term solution if you don't use many filters. In addition, MSR contains no activated charcoal, meaning toxins are not removed. In that sense, it stinks that the charcoal filter isn't going to last longer here. 26,000 gallons on the other two filters but only 528 gallons on the charcoal filter. It's not enough to say it's not the best water filter out there (which I found and did a lot of research), it just means it loses its limited ability to remove heavy metals, bad taste/odor 2.9 months battery life for a family of 3 at best 2 gallons per person per day. Still not bad for $65! The flow rate is good, requiring 10 minutes of continuous pumping for each gallon of filtered water. Light enough to slip in a cargo bag, well thought out and engineered, a million times better than living straw and any of their 2 micron filters leaving you open to the broad truth of a deadly waterborne disease like Cholera Vibrio, all too mention all the viruses out there! With this single $65 device, I can provide my family of 3, 2 dogs, 10+ years of bacteria, virus and protozoa free water in a self contained situation! The problem is that there are many more things than viruses and bacteria that can harm you. Heavy metals, many chemicals and toxins etc. My very immobile big Berkey not only kills all living things but over a hundred other chemicals, poisons and metals, it even removes some forms of radioactive waste!. With two of these survival filters (or one of the $100 enhanced drinking options) and my Berkey, I'm ready to provide my family with the purest drinking water for over 20 years in no time, and that's not least. Grid situation, drinking from a Florida reservoir surrounded by houses!
