I bought this for my American Akita who spends a lot of time outdoors. The item arrived in good condition, all parts were present and the instructions on the pictures were a little muddy, but overall assembly was easy. *The key to holding the frame together without having to be the Hulk is this: There is a long Velcro strap on the bottom/short side of the mat. Open it fully so it doesn't catch anything until you've fully assembled the frame and make sure it's secure. You can then tighten the mat and remarry the velcro. I had to put a leash on her and lead her to the mat and she stood there for a while looking at me like she thought she might get in trouble if she got off the mat. So I just leave it out and she either likes it or she doesn't like it. I have other dogs that will probably be very interested in this so I will try it on them too and see if I need to buy cool beds. *I bought the gray version and I want to let you know that the canopy keeps you warm. For fall or even winter it would be great but in July in the south east it's too much. So I'll put the dome aside and use it in the cooler months as I already have 90% of the shades*.
