I was thinking I could use a Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 adapter to connect my old 2011 Mini Display of the Year. I moved the Apple Cinema Display to my new iMac so I was incredibly disappointed and concerned when it didn't work. I called Apple support and they suggested I try a mini display port for HDMI and then an HDMI cocktail for Thunderbolt 3, but that seemed pretty dubious to me. On a whim I found this connector and decided it was worth a try for the price. So I'm very happy! This little guy worked right away and saved me a ton of money on fancy adapters or worst of all a new second display!
