The material has a strong perfume smell that hits you as soon as you open the package. I assume it's dye. I have a headache. I washed it 3 times and the smell has faded a bit but it hasn't gone away. My daughter was supposed to have purple leggings for school and I couldn't find this color anywhere else. I recommend a pre-wash with detergent and vinegar before wearing. Buy one size larger. They go well with short leggings.
