I give this belt 5 stars. This is unique to me as I didn't have this type of buckle. The mechanism is a ratchet that stays in place where you lock it. I wear size 38 pants, I bought a 40" belt and expected I would need it based on my diet. Luckily not, I'm a size 36. One of the great things about the belt is that you can easily shorten the belt if you want. Instructions on how to do this are clear for both trimming and belt operation. I will be buying another one very soon.
