Initially I found the heel to be a bit high, but after walking for a while this part of the shoe is the most noticeable. Each stride feels like it transitions into the next with a springy rebound, landing with great arch and heel support. The only downside is the back of the shoe where the heel loop is located. The material can be made stiffer. When you put them on, the back tends to curl into the heel. For this reason I have to use a shoehorn. But still 5 stars. UPDATED 9-28-22 I had to buy a second pair of these!. I've been wearing my regular tennis shoes for a while after using my first pair of these G-Defy Ion and after a few steps I wish I had my Gravity Defyer G-Defy Ion Pain Relief Men's Running Shoes to go back to them. They are simply the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. Once broken in, it has amazing cushioning, support, a springy fit and springback. Oh, and a feeling of weightlessness. I didn't feel the boots for a while. I'm not in pain, I just wanted really comfortable shoes. And that's it!
