Review on Optimized Travelon Signature Crossbody with Anti-Theft Compartments by Charles Lewellen

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Worked as it should and lasted at least for that first 2 week trip.

The biggest surprise for me when I received this bag was that the zippers that keep the zippers on the top pocket and top front pocket closed are very difficult to zip are open! One for the front pocket has an elastic band so you can pull it out a bit to open it, but the one for the main pocket was very uncomfortable and I ended up not using it. They don't open very wide so you have to hit the head of the zipper to close and open them. Of course if your main concern is safety then they are great! The bag also weighs a bit when empty and bumped into my shoulder a bit when carrying it every day. I just changed the direction of the shoulder bag. Another issue with comfort was that the metal strap length adjuster hit me right on the shoulder when set to my desired length. I solved this problem by putting the bag on the wrong way round, but it wasn't ideal. Otherwise I was able to stuff in pretty much anything I needed, although I was more careful towards the end because of the weight. This worked great on my ride and I loved that I could detach the main strap to wrap it over the chair or just hang it over it if needed. The only suggestion I would make to Travelon is to add an inner pocket to the main body of the bag. This whole side is exposed, so it's very difficult to unzip the zipper without reaching into the pocket with two hands to hold on to the beginning of the zipper. If you're trying to decide on a color I can suggest black over pewter grey. I really didn't like the gray color and I think black would have worked much better.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Mostly good but...
