No ball bearings suitable for replacement parts

Couldn't believe it didn't have ball bearings, amazed that the original lasted more than a few years. Surrounded by felt impregnated with lubricant. When it's hot in the attic, the felt dries quickly. So I added oil lines to the new one to make it easier to lubricate with oil. It's amazing what you can do with an old ink pen, a hot glue gun and a pipe cleaner.

Pros
  • Durable test results

  • No instructions

The motor turned heavily by hand, did not work.

When turning the motor manually I felt it was tight during part of each revolution. After installation, I made sure the fan blades weren't touching anything. I wired it up making sure the load wire (black) from the motor was connected to the temperature switch output and the neutral (white) wire from the fan was connected to the circuit white wire. After switching on, the fan turned a quarter of a turn, then stopped and didn't turn any further. Again, by rotating the fan manually, I made sure…

Bad engine from the start

Installed in the attic (yes it was warm) to replace a 10 year old noisy one. wanted to replace before the actual problem arose. The fit was good with the belt mount, the motor is almost the same (same AirVent motor as towed) only the shaft was about 1 inch shorter. (no problem as the blade was mounted 1" from the end) so the fan was mounted flush onto the new motor shaft. Turned on the power and found it squeaked/was louder than the one I had taken off I would take another but there was no…

Great replacement for Leslie-Locke motor - 0.5 " shorter shaft

This is a great replacement for Lesley-Locke #A0510B2040 - 1.75" instead of 2.25" shaft." Wave. Easily fits into an existing webbing attachment clip. The shorter shaft does not affect the fit or cause fan interference. Has sufficiently long electric cables. Works well and is quiet enough. A suggestion to the seller: instructions. included in the scope of delivery do not indicate engine lubrication. This is "permanent lubrication". However, on Lomanco's website you can find a very detailed…

Looks just like the original 10 years old. the old motor was replaced by

My original Lomanco deflectors are 10 years old and their corners are spot welded to the deflector frame. I had to unbolt the worn motor from the brackets and then tilt it sideways to remove the blade before I could remove the old motor from the case. On later models, the mounting brackets are removable, allowing the motor and fan to be removed from the case at the same time. Knowing what I know now, I would replace the whole block instead of just replacing the motor. I'll do that next time I'm

Pretty good attic fan, probably better quality than most

3rd Lomanco motor in 25 years of house ownership. Not bad, but at some point everything collapses. I look forward to another 7 years or so. Also replaced with a new Lomanco thermostat. I removed the previous Lomanco humidistat as it was more of a pain than a benefit and just made wiring and fan operation more difficult. I used my old fan blades as they were a bit dirty but otherwise not bent and in good condition. The motor is a PIA that needs replacing in a hot, cramped attic (the owner shows…

Blocks with a shorter shank can cause serious problems =

Find valuable reviews and this one is for a recent installation only. It has been suggested that this device will be suitable for many/most applications. It clearly indicates the length of the shaft (it seemed shorter than most). In the case of a direct assembly, this difference in length can be decisive. I attach great importance to the statement "suitable for many/most applications". As an elderly jack of all trades, my collection of gadgets and tools is extensive, an advantage many may not…

. F0510B2497 for LOMANCO 1AVENT 8000 or AVENT 80 no larger roof vent 4 roof vent vents After a slight delay in delivery, the engine arrived in good condition, delivery took about a week. Probably the hot spot in July and August. (Get it, the hot item is yuk-yuk.) It does NOT come with an armored flex cable jacket, so you'll have to reuse it from an old motor, or buy about 18 inches with a collar and nut for the thermostat side. This came with LOMANCO instructions but no brand or country of…
