Fits perfectly - power windows

Perfect for 2003 Avalanche, everything is fine. Removing the door panel after removing the screw and Yin decorative pieces should pull the panel up 1.5 to 2 inches. The panel still feels very attached to the door even after everything needed has been removed. Replacing on a Chevy truck is as easy as replacing anything else.

Great price and easy installation

Sorry I didn't take pictures but the installation didn't take long so I didn't think about it until everything was ready. My setup was on a 2000 Chevy Silverado. and it only took about 20 minutes from start to finish. It took five minutes to troubleshoot, only to find that I forgot to plug in the motor power cord. :(.In the OEM parts, the rails are held in place with three screws on each side. This part uses two screws and one, but at the base. This addition was really good for pushing the…

great replacement for power windows

Great for Yukon 2003 XL SLT windows. The installation took about 40 minutes. The hardest part of removing the door panel is removing the power windows. I've watched a lot of installation videos. On some models the power windows just pop out of the door, but on my Yukon the switches are screwed into the door panel so once the door panel is loosened the wiring harnesses have to be disconnected. Do not attempt to remove the power windows from the front. Not very difficult, but you will have to…

Good price but not forever

I am buying this to replace the same Dorman part I installed a few years ago that just had an engine failure. The Dorman motor is physically smaller than the OEM motor, but drives a steel gear rather than an OEM plastic (not that gear is a common failure mode). Because the motor is a different design and gearbox, you can't replace a failed motor with an OEM motor, and I don't think Dorman sells their motor separately. The regulator is a good price but should last more than a few years. Since my

Not suitable for direct mounting on window regulators and motors

Beware of porter photos. It shows an exact OEM picture of the controller/motor assembly. This is very deceptive. The OEM part has 6 mounting points while the doorman part only has 5. The window rails on the OEM are made of black plastic and are very solid (larger). Doorman window rails are made of white plastic and are MUCH thinner/smaller. In fact, this very item on my new doorman window regulator was broken when I opened the box. It's so weak I think it failed under its own voltage (2 wires…

It was easy to install

This was easy to install I hope it will last longer than the previous one which only lasted 2 years even though the unit I bought had the same part number which someone else made one so pay close attention, i installed this in a 2002 escalade, i only need 2 sockets, one 7mm one 10mm. I was working in extreme cold around 18 degrees with wind so I wedged the window pane in the up position with a small wooden wedge cut radially as I was concerned the glass would fall off after removing the old…

Excellent replacement for the spring project

After taking the product out of the box, there is no harm in applying lithium grease to the guides. glass in the upper position. Remove the two screws on the left and right of the guides holding the glass. If they are stuck, pull the holders down a bit. Turn off power to the motor. Remove the six screws holding the rails, lift them slightly, rotate them to a horizontal position and remove them. they supply nuts for them. With a rail without a motor, the second screw from the top, the fastening…

Pros
  • Beautiful packaging
Cons
  • There are some nuances

It runs a little slower and "harder" than the OE, but it's four times cheaper. Went in easily and in less than half an hour. The kidnapper would nail you at $400 for that, so who's to argue about the price? Removing the door panel on Chevy trucks is simple, making it an easy task. Two screws, one is visible in the door handle and the second behind the power window - unscrew them and you'll see them there. Unclip the corner wedge on the front of the card, remove the cover over the handle to open

Get the ACDelco 11A16 instead, Dorman does the job but not a perfect fit

Dorman does the job but isn't a perfect replacement anyway. Use the ACDelco 11A16 Professional Front Power Window Motor for the driver's side instead. . It is the perfect replacement for a simple installation. I've found a few issues with Dorman that I'd like to share so you can avoid extra work and most importantly a product that doesn't fit as it should. The Revain Garage disclaimer stated it would fit my 2001 GMC Yukon XL, which it did, but with the regulator's integrity broken. Please note…
